Ron McBurnie lives in the suburbs of Townsville, a North Queensland town in Australia. He spends quite a bit of time making art and trying to avoid the summer heat. He is married and has two sons and a fussy dog named Lou Lou. He also works at James Cook University in the School of Creative Arts where he lectures in all manner of arty subjects.

Ron has a love for listening and collecting music; in particular vinyl records from the psychedelic era with great jackets. He also collects specific examples of historical prints from different periods of time which often influence many of the etchings he makes. His other interest s include watching film Noir movies of the 40’s and 50’s as well as other movies with a gambling theme.(although he is not himself a gambler)

Ron does not like administrative work of any kind and finds no enjoyment in completing his tax returns each year. He also does not enjoy horse riding or sun baking on beaches but may occasionally be sighted walking his dog along the edge of the Ross River in the late afternoon.
